At home we love biscuits but also the flan, for that reason, today I have prepared as a special Sunday dessert this cake with my Mycook .

The sponge cake, as the name suggests, is half sponge cake and half custard, which are baked in a bain-marie in the same mold melting both layers into a wonderful mixture.

Although you can use industrial caramel, I include you in the recipe to make it home. In both ways, this is a quick and very rich dessert. Would you like a portion of my sponge cake?

  • For flan:
  • 4 eggs
  • 500 g milk
  • 120 g white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • sugar
  • For the sponge cake:
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 90 grams of white sugar
  • 90 g of pastry flour
  • For homemade caramel:
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • A plumcake mold
  1. First we start by putting a pan with water in the oven and preheat it to 180ºC.
  2. While preparing homemade caramel: Pour sugar and lemon juice into a frying pan and put it on the fire until the caramel is formed with care that it does not burn, turn away from the heat and set it aside.
  3. At the same time prepare the flan: put in the glass the ingredients of the flan and mix 10 seconds in speed 3.
  4. Now pour the mixture into the caramelized mold.
  5. Then we prepare the sponge cake, for this we place the butterfly on the blades, add to the glass the eggs and the sugar of the cake and program 5 minutes, speed 4.
  6. Then add the flour and schedule 4 seconds, speed 2 and finish mixing helping us with the spatula so that the eggs do not lower.
  7. Then we remove the butterfly and carefully pour over the custard.
  8. Finally we put the mold in the oven and cook in the bain-marie for 30 minutes at 180ºC heat up and down.
  9. Finally we check that it is curdled by clicking it with a needle or skewer, It must come out clean, otherwise we schedule a few more minutes and let cool before unmolding.
