Tomato candy with cloves

Dulce de tomate con clavosTomato sweet with cloves, although it is rather a jam, you will be surprised by the taste and especially that the recipe is made with canned tomato. In the photo you see a lot and is that I have a Communion shortly and the details will be jars of homemade jams. The amounts I put are for a pot of about 350 gr or so.

  • 1 large can of peeled whole tomatoes (the can is 480 gr) 200 gr
  • of sugar (you can use brown sugar, it will give you another taste)

  1. Open the can of canned tomatoes, take each tomato one by one and gently squeeze so that they “burst” and release the juice they carry.
  2. Put the tomatoes inside the jar (total the weight will be in about 380 gr already drained) add the sugar and grind 30 seconds at speed 4.
  3. Lower the remnants of the walls, add the nails and schedule 20 minutes at 110th speed 2.
  4. When you finish remove the nails and throw the candy in a pot that we will have boiled, close well and place upside down to make the vacuum, leave for 24 hours.
In total the weight will remain in about 380 gr already drained, were between 6-8 tomatoes.
The broth of tomatoes that came in the can do not throw it away that can be used perfectly in any recipe such as rice or some stew.
If you don’t like too much nail put 1 only, you can even choose not to put it.
This tomato candy in a pie with cecina and goat cheese is dead.
